his mother's side looks like german showlines to me further back.....

It looks like only by the names mind you that he has American lines up front, and I agree that the back is of west show lines.

Now is the fact that the showlines are much further back bad? I know for sure that his parents and grandparents where not shown on either side.

I'm not familiar with west show lines, or west german at all really.  I am slowly learning by myself on these lines, but if I see "VA's" in the pedigree then that is more of west show lines. Someone correct me if I'm wrong? I also saw west working lines, and yes that is west German.
