I would report it to police and get it on record,as the dog will be back to fight for its territory,and next time your dog might not be so lucky or your family members,at least that way you have a record of needing to defend your self , and then I would do what is necessary to protect my own. Im  so sorry your dog was hurt be greatful it wasnt worse and that you werent hurt. Check the laws were you live but be prepared as pits dont often give up once they have an challange. Not all, but a dog who comes after a human,and meets with a protector will most likely be back. Best to you

I always keep a bottle of penicillin in the Icebox.  Generally a few days of injections does the trick for infections.  but I'd definitly see a vet.  if there's alot of swelling she may have cracked a bone in her face.

Hey everyone thank you for all the good wishes and thank you for keeping us in your prayers.

The neighbour being a nice man, paid for my girl's treatment and was very sorry about what had happened. His pitbul was in bad shape and underwent a huge operation.

The vet has put my girl on antibiotics and told me to clean the wound 4 times a day. He assured me that the wound will not get infected.

Right now my girl is sleeping on my lap and i will get you guys updated on her progress.

Good Dog,

        My brother once had a BAD,BAD pitbull, he got her when she was older, My brothers other dog, a rottweiler saved my mother once from Derious injury. Funny how some dogs really do come to the rescue.

       Hope your dogs heals nicely, and give her a bone for me!!!
