Dear God, get to the Doctor... dogs are one thing but I draw the line at medicating humans LOL!
I don't know if we can get it or not!

Usually staph looks inflamed, maybe just a puppy pyoderma, for dermal staph infections I use mupirocin oint by pfizer, but only after a skin scrape to see what it is. As for your finger the deep open wounds sounds like you have nerve damage and need to see emergency.

Dog bites need lots of washing out with hot soapy water daily and I used bag balm on all of mine..never ever got infected..But I am very healthy, never been sick or have infections of any kind...I did take ceflex which is Fish Flex and is for the dog but is same as human... www.revivalanimal.com fish flex fish forte, all antibiotics for dog and humans..

1 doggie: When you got bit , the tooth of one of the dogs went into the nerve pattern on your hands or finger. Mine were numb for many weeks but come back later after nerve endings heal....same as when my sons foot was severly crushed...dog bites usually take into the nerves, but keep washed two or three time with soapy hot water and use bag balm or an antibiotic cream on them even Iodine if you can stand it...I prefer bag balm have been using it for years.
Only people with no health problems need do as I do..If you are diabetic or have other medical problems seek a dr. I dont go to drs.

I am fine, no infections, hand actually looks good. After it happened I went to emergency, they gave me some pretty strong drugs thru IV and washed it out made me sit right up when they began the washing. Was just wanting to know if pup has staph if I could infect my hand.
By the way I am thrilled, I have not had animal control here! I fessed up to them being my dogs, when they began talking rabie shots.

YR, I am chuckling at the other thread where someone has GSD and wants to get Mal, maybe even the same sex! I wish so much I had taken pictures of the blood bath that was in my house, or I could send him the vet bills! The male pup and my old male Rottie do fine, but I can see I can not trust them. The old guy would be fine. The pup is so sweet until you tick him off, then he gets into this ZONE and he does not care who the heck you are he will go after you. I grabed him the other day by his scruff and pinched him with my finger nails to correct him and the rottie came waltzing by and he thought it was him correcting him and went after him, My older male was going to be more than happy to put his butt in his place, I called him off and told him to leave, the youngen was picked up by the scruff an thrown out side (by me) to cool off, it takes him awhile to come out of that state. Normally I would let them work it out, but that little one is not a work it out kinda guy. Presuure on my hand still hurts, so it is hard to work the pup right now, but he needs some very strong ob on him, before he gets to big for me to pick up by his scruff. I am telling you, I laugh everytime anyone tells me how sweet this pup is, he is such a love, but he has this side to him that shows no mercy. He is not dog agressive, but again do not tick him off. My daughter dog's ear healed and has the stitches out, my female is doing good also, she got her drains out and infections look to be gone, she still is sore around the neck, she had alot of brusing.
Just bragging, I have the BEST ROTTIE in the world he listens to me in a pinch, even if he would rather not. I am so hoping that my little "sweetie" will learn do the same.

malshep, I looked up puppy pyoderma, you could be correct. I will try the tree tea oil, until vet sees and tests for it, since this will not hurt him. I hate having to give them meds if can do it naturally.I still need to know what I am dealing with. Yuck,. the vet bills in the last month could have sent me to Hawaii.
YR, gald to hear the nerve damage only temporary, I was thinking it might be or at least hoping. I lost a lot of "fat" out of the finger, had I known you could diet this way, I might have told her to forget the hand and go for the belly.

I hate it when we ask for help and never hear how it went.
Well went to the vet and scraped he has D. Mange. I am to wipe with Listerine (the mouth wash) then rub in Goodwinol Ointment. once per day and I was told this will take 4 to 5 weeks. Also because near the mouth, make sure I rub it in good. He shows no signs of itiching.
