That is the truest post that i have seen on any Dog Forum, We think we humans are clever, but overall we mess more things up and interfer with so many other species , i often wonder if we are not the inferior ones

Steve we are inferior, you know how I know? Beacuse we are so sure that we are actually superior to everything, and this goes along with Socrates theory I belive :) that if you think you superior than you most likely are not :)

good read. as far as the decline in gsd's working ability, one look no further than the over breeding and WRONG breeding. too many people breed for looks or other reasons and forget about tempernment and working ability. there are gsd breeder who will maintain this, but they are way fewer. i would guess the majority of german shepherds seen today are from such breeders.
just wait, the mali will gain populartity and more people will breed them and they too will decline. luckily the shepherds have not fallen off as bad as what has happened to the doberman and the rottie.
