The new economy should be, buy local, eat seasonal. NO GMO's. JMHO
Don't trust perfect looking fruit or veggies! Ask yourself, WHY does all my produce rot within days of coming home from my super fancy Internation World Class grocery store?
Yes, I own Debbie Meyer green bags, because I HAVE TO!
I grow a crop of my own carrots, and that is the only time my eldest will ever eat them.

Interesting, our puppy who had an unexplained seizure gets baby carrots regularly as they are her favorite treat.
