Your vets may well be OK, but I think it is the kind of home that you can find for the pups that really matters.

If good homes expect OFA H&E, then without it you may have to compromise on the type of homes for your pups.

If there is a momentum (expectation) for OFA, then you better have it even if you know hips of both are good.

How well do you know the hips of the stud? Really, or just the owner says so?

That is why I chose an OFA excellent&H stud with OFA H&E parents and Grandparents. My girl's is just as complete.

I was searching for a stud sometime and I paid top $$$ if i got the male i wanted, that is the owner has to provide everything I asked for including the Xray. Xray's are cheap here.

Most people dont know about OFA, so i guess its my responsibility to breed healthy dogs.

As far as sending to OFA I would highly recommend doing something to double check on the vet, we are in the US but had our dogs hips/elbows done, two vets in the practice looked at them saying they would think OFA excellent on hips and elbows fine.  They both said waste of money to send into OFA/Pennhip luckily I did it anyway.  One hip had mild dysplasia and one elbow was really bad.  Just goes to show you NOT to trust the vets opinion its best to send to someone that is board certified and knows what they are doing, well worth the money!
