i missed the first ten minutes when they first ran the show, so i watched the first ten minutes when they replayed it. shayna is beautiful (i have a longcoat too). i thought it was a bit odd that they showed the white shepherd and not sables, but, all in all it was fun to see gsds being protrayed positively. congrats on your star!

i think they have a K9 cops show now on animal planet too. i like seeing dogs at work. this weekend angus and i were once again part of a doggie drill team at a big community to-do in fontana, ca. we were watching the k9 cop demonstration (they were using a mali) and at one point, while one cop talked about tracking, etc., the other cop was standing with his mali. unnoticed by either cop, the mali lifted his leg and peed on his handler!! the crowd laughed but the handler was none too happy. the dog seemed quite relieved.... i don't know if he'll be "starring" again...

Real cute.
I'm glad they focused so much on a vital aspect of GSDs in society that the general population needs to be aware of-police work.  There are many great working GSDs who serve their community in doing SAR, bomb detection, police work, etc that don't get the publicity and credit they deserve. The breed is still one of the best out there; its better to focus on breed workability than the incidents of American show line GSDs being jumpy, flighty, etc and thus causing bad publicity for the breed in general. Even if your GSD does nothing more than bring a smile on your face, more power to ya.
Too bad the entire segment on GSDs was only 8 minutes long (I timed it when it came on). Yes, they didn't mention sables, but sure showed enough-pups and the adult.
My boy's Dad was featured briefly in some of it. Lol-if you blinked, you'd miss it, tho. But that's ok.
