Bonnie resides with my parents. They couldn't bear to part with her after I moved out.
I think she eats some kind of hypoallergenic food with duck and brown rice. I'm not sure who makes it.
I would not suspect a tick as she only goes outside to eliminate. She's a spoiled rotten house dog who doesn't know the meaning of work. Lol.
Her poo is normal, well formed normal dog poo. No she doesn't eat it. Her abdomen is not tender.
She has never, nor currently is eating anything that does not look or smell like food. No grass, dirt, foreign objects, etc..
Her gums are what worried the vet. She said they looked pale, like she was anemic, but her blood is normal. I know it sounds like kidney failure, which is what I thought too when my mom told me what was going on, but the tests say she is perfectly healthy. Her blood tests, wheich she has a complete blood panel done every other year, look just like her last ones. Normal.
As for the raw meat, she won't touch it. I tried convincing my parents that some raw stuff would be good for her. All my dogs get the raw goodies along with their kibble. She would rather starve. Go figure.
Stool was checked also. No paracites(sp?).
So it's just wait and see I guess. Thank you everyone for your kind words and thoughts.

I dont think any of us that are answering are vets but i would suggest to your vet that he look more thoroughly perhaps with an x-ray so that you will see if there are any tumors or anything pushing against her spleen etc.I sincerly hope she comes out of this and has more years of life left.Good luck to you all.

My boy Jake stopped eating suddenly but drank lots of water. Vet ran all kinds of blood tests and said he was fine. Took him to another vet for x-rays and an ultrasound. They found a tumor in his stomach :(
My prayers are with you and Bonnie. Hoping for the best. Let us know...

Well, Bonnies is doing much better, although the vet still doesn't know what's wrong. She's eating happily, still drinking much more then is normal, and acting much more like herself. She's still a bit weak in her back end but her ears are perky and the gleam is back in her eyes. The vet put her on an antibiotic just in case they missed something, and a mild painkiller. Her tail is up and boinking like The happy Bonnie I know.
Thank you all.
