By Brokenhurst Joe (5913) out of Nettle, by Belvoir Joe.

From The Kennel Club Calendar and Stud Book, Vol. V, 1878 for the year 1877:
7016. Needle.—Mr. F. Redmond's, 137, Abbey-road, London, N.W. (late Mr. L. Turner's); breeder, Mr. L. Turner; whelped June, 1876; colour, white body, even marked tan head.
Pedigree: By Brokenhurst Joe (No. 5913) out of Nettle (dam of Burbidge's Nettle, No. 4169), by Belvoir Joe.
Chief Performance: Alexandra Palace, 1st prize.
