From The Kennel Club Calendar and Stud Book (U.K.), Volume I, 1874:
562. Lancer.—Mr. J. H. Murchison's, F.R.G.S., Surbiton-hill, Surrey, born 1870; colour, white, with tan head and spots on body.
Pedigree: By North's Jim out of Dame.
Chief Performances: Glasgow, 3rd prize, 1872; Birkenhead, 1st prize, 1871; and other prizes at local shows.

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
