My 11 month old Siberian Husky has cataracts in both of his eyes. Surgery costs roughly around 5,000 dollars... I dont have anything around this amount of money tbh... I might have around 500 dollars... Care credit is only caped at 1,000 and i dont have pet insurance. either way It wouldnt covor the costs of elective surgerys.
I need help finding those people who help people like me financially... Please... This dog is to young to be going through this..

You need to present the exact cost, and where the surgery will take place. Apply for the credit. Apply to the non-profit organizations Jenni researched for you. See if you can get a donation link through them? Do these things, and it will help, as I will pay for the second eye @ $400, if you do.

Thats very generious of you... But I would only accept that amount if I even came close to the asking amount for this surgery. imjust devistated about all this. Ive been working alot on this stuff. like, I have already applied for a few orginizations for grants. or donations. sadly still waiting to hear from them... Ill try to keep you updated on what happens, thank you bee.

You should contact the organizations you applied to, and tell them you have a committed donor that will donate through them (a registered non-profit), for your dog's benefit. That might help move things along. I'm pulling for you and your dog.

The membership of this messageboard has, over the years, stepped up to the plate to help get eye surgery for a GSD female who was a member of a family that was also coping with a special-needs child with his own extraordinary medical costs; they've helped a young woman get hip replacement surgery on her young GSD when she'd already exhausted her resources paying for surgery to correct a problem with how the dog's jaw and canine teeth developed; those are just two examples. So you've got a group of folks who will extend themselves for someone else's dog...and now you've even got beetree pledging to cover the full cost for the second eye if you can raise the funding for the initial procedure.  [There's also several GSD folks here who have a weakness for Northern breed dogs, too, so that won't hurt your efforts, either...Wink Smile]

Once you've set something up through one of the non-profit resources, you'll be surprised at how fast the ball will start rolling.

Alot of the organizations are only taking applications for animals with life threatening issues. Some even say the animal has to be going to die within 10 days for someone to recieve a donation. I called a local resource and I was told they would not help me and to give my dog back to the breeder but I'm obviously not going to do that. Is there other ways to get the word out about this other than the message boards on this website? I think I saw a website to set up a way to recieve donations but I'm not sure what all kind of things I should be doing. I've never experienced this before. I will try to contact some of the organisations and find out whats going on. Thanks for both of your help. I need to find more non-profit resources I think that's my best bet.

hellion, check into websites such as Chip-In; there's at least one more like that, but I can't remember the name of it right now--and as for message boards, you must know that a web search for Siberian Husky messageboards/forums/chat sites will most likely bring up a truckload of hits....

Alright thanks Hexe.
