If her was in the West I would take himAltoona, Pa--my name is Jake and I am an approximately 2 year old German Shepherd. I was found at 159 Oak Street, Bedford Street and Hileman Hollow Road in Greenfield Township. I am a very strong willed young boy, who is very aware of my size. Even though I seem very intimidating when you meet me inside my kennel, I am actually very loving once I trust you. I know how to sit, shake, and lay down. ...
I was definitely trained by my owners and Steph thinks that my mannerisms are almost that of police dog or military dog. (Meaning that's how I act---my mind is working but when given commands by the people I trust I listen to them) I need a home with a very experienced shepherd owner, and a person that is an assertive pack leader! Please share my story and stop in and meet me at the Central Pa Humane Society. You can also call them at 814-942-5402. Don't judge me by my kennel presence---please ask the girls to get me out for you!!

If we can get someone to pull him and hold for neutering, provided the shelter will let me, I can take him here. It's a 7 hour drive and I could meet someone halfway.

I am 6 hours away. I could help, too.

Melba, do yu want him to keep or to foster?

I've been wanting to get a WL for schutzhund, but would prefer a female, as my elderly male likely wouldn't get along with another male. However, as I own a kennel, keeping them separated wouldn't be hard.

Any more info on him? WHy do thye think he has police or protection training?

Sorry, typing sucks...client's dog bit my hand!!  Angry Smile

If he has aptitude to work, I know a few PDs that would jump at the opprotunity to have him. I can foster and train indeffinately, LOL
I have enough dogs of my own that my Hubby would Kill me if I wanted to keep him, although he's kicking himself in the butt for letting
me adopt out Sarge because he decided that he really liked him... Men, go figure.

I'm just a caring individual who's been trying to do something good for our breed. I've had a few litters, and I feel obligated to rescue when
I have the means to do so.

He is a super nice looking boy.

Yes, he sure is! I have a weakness for the dark black and tans, because my boy is a blanketback with a dark face, very similar to this dog's. Also, I know any black and tan working line is bound to be descended from my favourite dog of all time, Bernd v. Lierberg!

So what is the plan for this boy. Do we know anyone in or around that area who can pull/foster until he's been neutered?
