do you agree with the docked tails ??? - Page 1

do any of you agree with the rottweiler and the doberman not being docked ? i think when they are docked i just looks better and if they are workings dogs then it will stop the tail being a bashing bushes etc i just think the docking ban is stupid !

I bought my first rottweiler in 1983.I thought the rottweiler was the most awesome dog that i had ever seen.The look of the dog is what got me hooked on them.They are also a great family companion and protector too.The docked tail really appeals to me in the overall look of the dog.I'am for docked tails and see nothing wrong with it.But on the other hand,the long tail most likely appeals to other people.It just gets down to someones preference.I feel the docked tail ban is due to the ever growing animal rights groups.They want to tell everyone what  you can or cannot do with your animal.And i mean all animals.For me,it's docked tails all the way,and hopefully it will not be banned in this country.I know alot of breeders are following the European standard and that's ok,the rottweiler is still a great dog.I just like to be able to have one the way I think they should look.That is my opinion.Take care.

Is there a function behind docking tails. I don't have a rotweiller but my GSD, like other animals uses it tail for making sharp turns.

I know some terrier breeds have naturally stub tails and some are docked to allow them to be pulled out of holes, but i doubt if this is the case for the rot and dob
