Im new to rotties(Pics of my Uncle's 2 rotties - Page 1

As some may have figured out from my Avatar, i am a person who is into German Shepherds, and knows about them. I do not know almost anything about the Rottweiler.

To start me off, i would like to go into basics. I have heard that there is 2 variations of the Rottweiler. There is the German Rottweiler & the American Rottweiler.
Can anyone post 2 pictures on this board, showing an American rottweiler, and a german rottweiler please. Thank you

 Well, that is surely negotiable.  A huge amount of American rottweilers I have sourced comes from German imported lines and as I am concerned, except maybe for a few variations between the AKC & the ADRK standards, all rotties SHOULD look the same.  The 1 thing though is that before you can register your puppies in Germany they have to have certain working qualifications which automatically mean the dog needs to be an athlete first and foremost and therefore tends to be smaller in bone structure & obviously very stable in temperament.  As for the American rottweilers I have seen, they seem to have been bred quite large.  You can go to Donnerberg rottweiler's website & look at the pictures of the most famous dogs, that will give you a good idea!!

Yes ok, but i have heard that most have diffrent looks, much like the German showline GSD, & the working line gsd.

To give you an idea:  I am posting photos of german import male (Bond vom Brandauerweg) and then a photo of my local male (Hitler ).  Now Hitler also has working lines but he is more the type of rottie you will see in America and Bond more typical of the working type rotties.  You can google Siegertal rottweilers, she specializes in working rottweilers and you will see they are quite similar.  The show dogs has a more (rounded) look if you know what I mean.  You will also see that for instance the Vom Hause Neubrand working dogs does not have such short heads with exaggerated stops as for instance the Von Crossneranch dogs, although both are working dogs.  Difficult to explain as they overlap BIG time - for instance: under a "non working judge" my local dogs fair better in the show ring but when it is a german or working judge, the german working lines fair better.  Also look at the Siegertal site - she has 2 dogs that comes out of the Austrian Military police lines, it is Sultan  & Ter Waele Xandra., more typical of pure working lines.  Does it help a bit???

This rottweiler is a male called tSimba. He was born here, but the mating happened in Germany, between a very good working male Rottweiler, that had strong prey drive,and could withstand a lot of pain, and a show female, which had won some very good titles & is a good worker.

His temperament is alright but not the best. he is fine, with someone he gets to know, and is alright with female dogs, or male dogs 2-3 years younger than him. However with strangers, he is very intimadting & protective. Also with male dogs, around the same age, like my Uncle's GSD, he is a fighter, and will not kill, but make sure, the other one, stays away.

he has been bred, to a show female, imported straight from Germany.  She produced 1 male pup, which we named Bullet. A fabolous pup with amazing ball & food drive, as well as tug drive. He looks like a dog, witha strong temeperament & nerve, but yet friendly. The female bred to tSimba, died however 2 weeks after the Birth of Bullet, due to a snake bite.

Bullet has been given to a friend, for a while, who had currently taken him to Germany, ,

 Would love to know the pedigrees, that will give you a very good idea of the type of dogs he has, I suppose that is what you are trying to establish.  Here is also a link that gives you more info on the standard so you can judge the dog for yourself.  I would show the dog and get a few judge's opinions which will tell you more about your dog and if he is of a good standard, you can get some titles on him & the right people will see him if you are into breeding!!!????  Here's that link: http://www.a-love-of-rottweilers.com/rottweiler-breed-standard.html
Here is also a photo of my female from local show & German working lines combined - would say she is more a show dog yet has very good temperament & good but not excellent drive

Now the following photo is of Layka, she is a full german dog from working/show lines but has the most incredible drive & working ability but also very good temperament, good gaurd dog as in owner in trouble.

Hamza your Uncle needs to feed his dog. It is very under weight, fur is dry, ribs & spine are poking through...no wonder the puppy is looking for food. Rottweilers need to be fed & good quality too. Your Uncles dog looks at least 12 Kg under weight.
