With docking been banned in europe for so many years its very hard to find out the correct length to dock a rottweilers tail.

1) At the base

2) After the first joint

3) After the second joint

Please advise.

I personally like them no longer than one joint in length. When we dock puppy tails at 2 days old we do so righ at the rump, just above the rectum. That usually gives you a nice nub as they mature. I feel if they are any longer than one joint you might as well leave the tail on. But that is just MY personal preferance.
