Has anyone done an HIT with a dog that has done bite work? I feel if the dog has the right temperament he or she can take the test.

Yes, plenty of dogs that have done bitework have done the HIT, and plenty of them have passed.

I did a herding instinct test with my IPO trained dog a few months ago. The herding instructor that was evaluating her liked what she saw and said the dog would definitely be capable of herding. I was worried my dog would go into a bark and hold with the woman evaluating us but she was really good and did not confuse protection with herding.
