Service Dog Recommendations/Suggestions - Page 1

Hello all! I am in the market for a European Working Line Shepherd (but am open-minded) to be a service dog for a veteran with PTSD, Narcolepsy Cataplexy, Trigeminal Neuralgia, and nerve damage. Last pet was an Alaskan Malamute and German Shepherd mix, he was wonderful, would be too good to be true if we could find that again. Would prefer to have the pup come from breeders with experience in raising dogs for this particular circumstance, even though it's a reach. Trying our best to cover all bases and possibilities. Hoping to add a new member to the family by Spring 2018. We are well aware of how some people don't care for their dogs correctly. We are not trying to do business with these people. Repeat breeders are welcome and so are rescue pups. Any suggestions and ideas would be truly, greatly appreciated. Thank you! 

In what general part of the world are you located? It would be easier if you were able to go and meet the breeder's dogs yourself, and the breeder could get a better idea of what you're seeking and would work best for your needs if they can spend some time with you, too...

Are you looking to start with a puppy or are you thinking of one that's already past the whole housebreaking/don't eat the couch stages?

We're located in Pennsylvania, United States. Would love to be able to meet up with breeders and have this be catered to the situation as much as possible due to our circumstances being considered somewhat uncommon. We are both entirely capable of training a new puppy or having someone else do it. Would prefer to have a young pup, maybe 1-2 years or below. One of the most important aspects of this is where we get the pup from. Whether that be from a breeder or a shelter, it doesn't matter, we just want to make sure the people in this dog's life are respectable and caring.
