The media is going to be barfing up statistics next week ( May 17-23) on dog bites and dog related deaths .. how much is the truth .. figures don't lie but liars figure and I see some whoppers in the so called data that is being prepared for this week of "bite fest".  A lot of guilt is laid at the feet of some breeds but I wonder who decides what is a Pit Bull, or a Rottie, or a GSD.  Since 99.9% of the US public is ignorant about breed characteristic when does a mix become a purebred.  A lot of biters called Pit Bull are likely mixes.  Prepare for the media blitz of misinformation about how dogs are killin' everyone when in fact dogs are one of the safest creatures to be around.  Horses killed more than 10 times as many people in 2014 than dogs killed.

Anywhere from 10 to 40 children a year drown in buckets nationwide, according to reports from the Consumer Products Safety Commission.

Bambi kills more people than bears or sharks in the USA .. bee stings and wasp kill 40 people a year .. more than dogs and the interpretation of dog deaths includes those who die after an attack due to medical complications not necessarily because of an attack.
