I know this question has been asked a few times.  I scowered google and have yet to find an answer as to the technical name of this material.  Is it really from france or is this just a nick name?  Some say that its a material used for filters and not to search by the name "french Linen"  if so, what is the actual name of this product?  I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here, but its next to impossible to find any info on this material.  You can pm me or send me an email if this is something "top-secret"

Thank you

Ed

Most dog training products today constructed of what is called "french linen" utilize a cotton/synthetic blend.  Perhaps once there was a type of linen fabric from France that was used.  Today, everything that I have seen called "french linen" is a cotton and synthetic blend.  "French linen" is now a very generic and vague term.

Ok now that we established that french linen is a genric term, what is the cotton/synthetic material called?  In one thread it was described as bing used for somekind of filter?

To be more clear, what is called french linen can be any number of blends of cotton and sythetic fabrics.  It is not manufactured to any rigid specifications from one manufacturer to another.  The stuff used in bites suits from Dealer A is different than the stuff used in suits by Dealer B and different from the stuff used in suits sold by Dealer C.  Textile mills do not manufacture "french linen".  They manufacture a host of cotton/synthetic blends that are called "french linen" by those who make bite suits.  "French linen" is a term used by bite suit makers, not textile manufacturers.  The composition and weave of what bite suit makers call "french linen" is infinitely variable.
