50-60,000 years Modern humans and Neanderthals share territory in Middle East.
45,000 years Modern humans enter Europe.
40,000 years Neanderthals disappear

Mitochondrial DNA shows that Neanderthal were absorbed, through interbreeding, into the modern human population and primarily the Caucasian population. The way Isis members behave, perhaps there are neanderthal still in the middle east. The destruction recently of artifacts of civilization thousands of years old would require non-human mentality.
