I also have to wonder if it was deliberate!

Really? Maybe there's a K9 unit somewhere that will want it!
Where'd you see that, Joan?

LARGO, Fla. (AP) -- Is "In Dog We Trust" your motto?
If so, a sheriff's office in Florida has a rug for you. The Pinellas County sheriff's office said Thursday it will auction off a rug that had "In Dog We Trust" on it instead of "In God We Trust."
The forest green rug with the sheriff's gold badge was in the entrance area for a couple of months when the error was discovered Wednesday by a deputy.
Proceeds from the auction will go to Canine Estates, a local animal rescue organization.
Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri says he wanted to put the rug on the auction block because the story garnered so much attention.
The rug was initially valued at $500.
Bidding had already far surpassed that. The auction closes Wednesday.

The starting bid was $100. The bidding is now at $2550.00! Canine Estates is going to be very happy...
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will not “sweep anything under the rug.” Due to extensive interest regarding our plans for the “doggone” rug, you can bid on it here, and we will donate 100% of your bid to Canine Estates Inc., a local animal rescue.
Bidding will close at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015. If the winning bidder is local, PCSO would like to host a check presentation in the near future.
100% of your donation will go to:

It was not intential. The company that made the rug admitted to the error.
It was all over our local news.
