Hello
i am running into a problem and i need your opinion
i sent my dog to a kennel to take care of her after labor and i did an xray when she was around 53 days of pregnancy and the doctor said she's carrying 6 or more
but to my surprise when the dog gave birth the guys at the kennel said she gave labor to only 4, i just want to know if its possible that the X-ray can give false predicition or if anything similar to this happened to anyone before
Thanks in advance
EDIT: also is it possible they can take away the puppies from the mother at early age she gave birth on 16 /11 but i plan on letting her stay there for the next 3-4 weeks.

If they're telling the truth, then she should've been x-rayed to see if there were dead pups in there still. X-rays can "lie" in that they can be hard to count when there are tons of heads and spines, HOWEVER, if the vet counted 6 spines at least, then where are the other pups?! Either you're being lied to or the mother's life is in danger because they're dead and still in there.
I suppose it's also possible that if she was not watched, she may have eaten 2....
I don't understand why she's at a kennel for whelping anyway (that could be a reason for eating pups....) or what you're asking in the last part. Please clarify the situation.

She's at a kennel because i am very busy working so i wont be able to help her if something went wrong during labor or after that..
about my last point i meant to say that i am going to check the puppies out in couple days so if they have lied to me about the number of puppies could they hide them while i am there and put them back after i leave?
i also exclude the idea that she ate any puppies because the far i know she was watched 24/7 that's why i choose to send her to that kennel...

why would you do this type of business with anyone you do not completely trust? Did x ray lie? did x ray tech lie? did kennel owner lie? were you that busy when the breeding was being planned?

i had no choice its either send her to a kennel that some people recommended or face the risk of loosing the dog if things went wrong so please dont judge me.

too late, I am judging you. get a grip on the situation. Admit you have had choices to make and some were poorly thought out.

Yes, Magicer, I guess another possibility is they're hiding 2 and planning to never let you know they existed. Do they know that you had her x-rayed for a count on pups? When were the pups born?
If pups were born deformed or stillborn, she may have eaten them very quickly and they could've missed it, unless there is video surveillance.
