Made my dogs nauseated, I found if I gave half first part of the month and then second the second half it worked and they did not throw it up. I only used it one season theough, not a fan.

I know 2 people that had dogs die from Comfortis.... one of the dogs had a necropsy and it was determined that it was the Comfortis that killed the dog. The other one there was no necropsy done, but the the vet said the dogs death was likely caused by the Comfortis..
I personally will NOT touch the stuff. The less chemicals my dogs have to take the better.

OMG; thank you for sharing that Jyl, think I will send it back. Really fearful of outcome and of course, I also do not like to use chemicals particularly ones they take orally. Think I will go to advantage (also poison) but at least it has been around for a while and will half dose it topically. Hate, hate, hate the stuff but enindated with fleas. Hate them too. Natural stuff won't even touch these, tried Vectra3D, don't like that either, also took a while to work. I'll keep searching and spraying natural oils, etc.
Thx Nan

Rose always scratched, almost to the point of creating bald spots while on Comfortis. Vets would put it back on the fleas, but as soon as I stopped the Comfortis, within a short time, the extreme scratching stopped.
I now use Advantage Multi; takes care of the heartworm med too. So far all are doing well on this; using it about 2 years now. Make sure you follow directions and get it to the skin and not just on the hair.
Down side is that it does not cover ticks. I found an all natural Flea and Tick med from Sargents that I rotate with. Again, so far so good. The dogs hate the peppermint and clove smell, but I like it.

Joanro, get a life. Many times you have good advice; but you also look for things to critize people on.
Nans, yes, topical only on Advantage Multi. As for the Sargents, my mistake, I use Sentry Natural Defense. Below is the ingredient list; all natural and a good off set to the Advantage Multi. Hard to find now days; I think I got my last batch on Amazon.
Peppermint oil
Clove oil
Lemongrass oil
Canola oil
Vanillin
Citric Acid

OH OK thanks Fawn, have not found the natural oils to work thus far, possibly once you get rid of the buggers then for maintenance, but this year has been attrotious (sp??) sure you know what I mean. With Jyl's post regarding the confortis, I won't use it now; bought it but will send it back and educate them also.
Thanks for any and all information, trying not to kill my dogs. Would not be a happy camper at all. Also trying not to intoxicate particularly the shepherd as he is only 17 months old, don't want to blow his young tender immune system. Nan
