What about poultry, lamb, and game, vegetables and potaoe ?
In case you don´t want to feed raw, a lot of dog foods are based on these ingrediants.

I have fed a lot of raw chicken leg quarters with good results (10 lbs for $7).  The beef that is in dry dog foods would not be recognized as such after it is processed and extruded so fresh beef is likely OK.  Likewise I am doubtful that cooked human grade rice would be a problem.  Corn and gluten are the usual carbohydrate suspects for digestive problems and allergies while lamb and mutton seem to be the source of many dry kibble formula recalls for E. Coli or Salmonella.  Sweet potatoes seem to be OK for dogs as a carbohydrate source also and they are relatively inexpensive.  I am not a fan of the sorghums and millets but some dogs can tolerate these lower quality grains better than corn or wheat.  Oats are also sometimes better tolerated as a substitute for corn or wheat.

There's a good chance you went to a vet with a common skin issue. The kind that occurs as they go through puberty when their immune system is challenged. An allergy test was done and it revealed the spectrum of things the dog is allergic to.

In reality your 10 month old may just be going through a phase where a change of diet is all he needs to get him through this development stage. Raher than live with a dog that has ''allergies" and needs special food the rest of it's life, take a chance that you have a normal dog with normal development and feed it a raw diet for a couple months and see if the allergies just go away. Not much to loose if you give this a try. You can always go back to a special diet.

First off I am not sure where you are located, so I do not know if any of these foods are available to you.

A few foods that I really like are...

Whole Earth Farms (from Merrick) - they have a grain free one that is chicken and turkey

Natures Variety - they have a few grain free limited ingredient diets

Blue Buffalo - Look at their BASICS line

AvoDerm - Look at their Revolving Menu formulas

Natures Domain - From Costco

Natural Balance - Look at their L.I.D Diets

Here is a good video from Karen Becker about food allergies...
