Link to a video and discussion of how vaccines are being sold as efficacious, safe and pure while the manufacturers and government watchdogs know they are not.  Applies equally to both human and animal vaccines.  Pulls back the veil on the ugly face of a trillion dollar industry which has become a revolving door for CDC. NIH, and government leaders who profit from trading in these companies stocks, gain campaign contributions, and have a cozy job with Merck and other vaccine makers after they leave government.  The big loser is the American public and our animals as we are sold increasingly expensive and unnecessary vaccines which are not as efficacious, safe, or pure as we are fraudulently told by government and industry.

While I don't deny the pharmeceutical companies have far mor policial clout than is healthy, as a retired nurse, I have to tell the other side of the story.

The anti-vaccination movement has blood on its hands. Children have died from whooping cough, mumps, measles and other preventable childhood diseases, solely because their parents were convinced vaccines were unsafe.

I belong to an older generation, the one that remembers what it was like before vaccines.

My mother recalls seeing coffins stacked up at the railway station, containing bodies of the victims of the 1918 flu, which took the life of her uncle, a healthy man in the prime of his life.

One of my high school friends suffered from polio as an infant. She was one of the lucky ones. Her respiratory muscles were not affected, so she did not wind up in an 'iron lung'. She could walk, though her gait was awkward, and she would sometimes trip and fall.

My husband saw nearly the entire group of kids taking part in a canoe trip succumb to polio, including the camp counsellor. He and his canoeing partner were the only ones to escape the virus, as they drank from a bottle of pop, instead of consuming the contaminated water at the well where they'd stopped to drink. Some of the children died. Auggie, their camp counsellor survived, and Roger was astounded to meet him in his first year engineering class, though he was using elbow crutches to get around.

The oral Salk polio vaccine that was introduced during the '60's was a wonderful blessing.

My parents told me 3 of the people that had lived in our neighbour's house had died from tuberculosis during the years between their marriage in 1945, and my birth in 1953.

Here's a map you might find interesting. It shows deaths around the globe that could have been prevented by vaccinations:

I love one of the comments on the above link:

JustAnEngineer wrote: The U.S. needs more churchyards like they have in the U.K. The kind that go back a couple centuries. Every one of them has a corner full of little stone baby lambs... grave markers... for children killed by childhood illnesses. Whole families might get wiped out by a really big outbreak, but more commonly lots and lots of little kids died of the very "childhood diseases" mentioned by the author.

Seems to me if every expectant mom walked among the stone lambs for a while, no matter how "holistic" or "crunchy", there would not BE an anti-vax movement at all.... in fact, their would be an outcry that major pharma companies are leaving the business of vaccines and antibiotics for more lucrative endeavors.

The cure for anti-vax is little stone baby lambs. Lots of them.

It's not worth having a debate on vaccines as the overwhelming majority with very strong opinions know as little as the side they rally against.  They know what someone told them.  Ever inject an animal, let it incubate, then kill it and digest the liver to see how it was affected?  Ever assay the blood to see what all compounds were formed?  Ever looked at results and wondered what something that showed a spike on the HPLC  and nobody had a clue?

There's more than enough good solid evidence for and against vaccination.  Make your own decision and I don't really care what you base it on.

I know for a fact, in my country: Vaccine costs a vet  euros 3.85 ( USD 4.9) and he/she charges dog/cat owner starting from euros 16.5  ($ 21) for administering that vaccine. This means the vets are making out most of vaccination protocol turn in not the manufacturer. I imagine vaccines cost for a vet in the US is much cheaper than that in Jordan.

In the US, the vet cost  for a distemper/parvo combo is around .50, the needle and syringe and additional .15.  There is an additional small fee for correct disposal of used syringes; they are considered red bag waste and need to be incinerated at an approved facility. The same for rabies that are usually  purchased in 10 dose vials.  The 1 year rabies vac and the 3 year vacs are identical.

I haven't really seen too many posters here saying core vacs are not needed; the argument is how often are booster shots needed.

Follow the money .. The US government buys millions of doses of Merck's "exclusive"  MMR vaccine while former heads of the CDC and NIH sit in their management chairs and pull down mega salaries.  Clearly those in DC know that playing nice with Merck and other Pharma giants with exclusive vaccine rights for the US market brings political contributions and revolving door jobs into their bright future.  Merck makes the MMR vaccine now linked to "shingles" and conveniently also makes the vaccine for "shingles".  Sounds like a system that is designed to keep bringing in more and more money by those selling vaccines but has not been concerned about public health in a long time.  Vaccine courts shield the vaccine makers from legal action for deaths and injury of those vaccinated combined with indemnity given by the government shield the vaccine makers from all legal actions by those forced to be vaccinated.  The newly announced and now supposedly "fast tracked" Ebola vaccine candidates will have government protection from legal action by those vaccinated even before it is tested for efficacy or safety.  We are supposed to trust the political machines and government scientists who allowed smoking deaths to continue for years before they were forced to acknowledge smoking caused cancer to tell the truth about vaccines that are forced by government policy and public health officials on virtually every American multiple times in their lives.  Dogs are forced to have vaccinations for rabies but many are forced to take boosters that are not needed for DPV and others such as kennel cough by ill informed kennels and boarding facilities.  All of the unneeded vaccinations are shielded from scrutiny because we are told they do no harm but the facts are that vaccinations for dogs that they do not need can do harm and often do.  Endocrine and kidney ailments can be traced back to vaccinations in many cases.  If the dog doesn't drop dead when the vaccination is given we are told the medical problem is coincidental and not caused by the vaccine.

Excuse me...please tell me how the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine is linked to shingles, which is caused by the chickenpox virus??

Seems we have some misinformation here!

Oh, and please ask Marjorie how she feels about the shingles vaccine. She is currently suffering from a shingles outbreak, and is so sick and weak she can barely stand up for 5 minutes!  Angry Smile

......have become so upset i develped shingles. I have been in and out fo the hospital, as I have the rare form where more than one nerve root is affected. Right now, its 2 nerve roots and a possible third. The pain is beyond any description. I need some of Jackie's strength.  I am taking 2700 mg of gabapentin a day, plus pain killers . They say I have the shingles on the inside as well as the outside. I was told this was caused by severe stress.

SORRY i HAVENT BEEN BACK SINCE MY ORIGIAL POST.  I have not been getting any better- if anything, just worse. I am on morpheine now, and it just dulls the pain, somewhat. Sleep is next to impossible. I fell asleep in the bathtub the other night.....LOL! My husband found me there in the middle of the night :( I lost 10 pounds, so far, as I cant keep anything down.  Aside from the burning, I feel like i am being stabbed, repeatedly.

wish I had known there was a vaccine for it (shingles)..... I didnt know.. You can  bet your buns I will be having one every year from now on, if I ever heal enough to be able to do so. Spoke to pain management dr today as yesterday was an especially  horrid day- he said he has me on a  very low dose  so if I need to decrease the time between one pill and the next, by 2 hours, its ok to do so. The idea of the pain management is so that I can feel well enough to eat and retain fluids, as I was not able to eat or drink anything, and keep it down. He said if I dont eat or drink fluids, I will not be able to get  better. Just came back from the GI dr, and he was not happy with all the weight I lost since last week. He said I MUST eat and drink and he agreed with pain management dr that there will be no getting well without being able to eat. Today seems a bit better, so far, and I havent had to shorten the duration between pain pills :)

Thanks for all the well wishes :) They are truly appreciated :)

Sorry I diasappeared. I was so sick I couldnt even stand up, couldnt eat, couldnt drink, let alone type or be on the puter. I lost 20 pounds and i was skinny to begin with :( It is a day by day recovery- some days I cannot be on my feet for more than 5 minutes, without feeling like I am going to go down for the count. Shingles is serious, people. I beg you to believe me- you dont ever want to be where I have been!! My back looks like someone put a lighter to it and set it on fire. I cannot feel anything but pins and needles in my back. The drs are not sure if normal sensation will ever return. They say I have a good 6 months more of recovery, at the very least. :(

MMRV is also an exclusive to Merck  .. wiki quote  ..  Several companies supply MMRV vaccines. ProQuad is marketed by pharmaceutical giant Merck and was approved in 2005 for use in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration for children ages twelve months through twelve years. A live attenuated virus MMRV vaccine called Priorix Tetra [1] by GlaxoSmithKlinehas been approved in Germany and Australia.

The problem is that vaccine makers are insulated and protected from injury and efficacy legal actions by the government that there is no incentive for them to make safer and more efficacious vaccines for people or animals because they can't claim increased safety or efficacy if we believe the vaccines we have been given and are being given are already safe and efficacious as we have been told.  Likewise the vaccine makers have sweetheart deals with the government to make and sell vaccines as monopoly suppliers so there is no market share to fight over with less expensive, safer, or more efficacious vaccines versus non-existent competitor products.

BRADY BEE

I have always had puppy vacs then booster at 1 year then no more. None of my dogs ever suffered any ill effects. I decided to insure my last boy ( first time ever ) and part of the rules were that the dog must have yearly boosters . Brady had no digestive issues until after his 2nd booster ! We spent the next three years in and out of vet and vet college ! He developed food allergies , skin and ear issues , sibo , b12 deficiency , ibd ( confirmed by biopsies) and spent that time on various meds. He finally succumbed to lympho carcinoma and we lost him on the operating table ! Still haven' t got over the heartache ! Coincidence or not !! Needless to say I will never repeat that vac regime again !!
