Hey, this is my first post and first time in this site, so i'm sorry if this isn't supposed to be here...

I got my first puppy about three months ago. His name is Hunter. When I first got him he was supposed to be 2 m.o, but really seemed like a month old puppy, so im not sure if he's 5 or 4 m.o. The first time I took him to a vet (still he was very little), the vet told me he wasn't a pure breed like the person that sold him to me told me he was, he said it looked like a gsd/ rottweiler mix. Now that he's a bit older, i don't see any rottweiler traits on him, apart from the markings on his fur. and, im almost certain that he's no teething, but he still has floppy ears, I havent seen them stand up once like i read that puppies tend to erect them and sometimes they tend to get floppy again. He has short hair. Doing some research I came across the bi color gsd, so now i'm not sure if he's a mix or not, what do you think? I think he KINDA looks li a german shepherd, snout seems kinda like a gsd to me, but i think its a little bit on the short side, but I'm not an expert. Thanks in advance!!

Sorry if the pictures are kinda weird. he moves a lot!!

I think he looks like he has some rottie in him. Possibly a german/rottie mix or German/rottie/something else mix. Though, he looks identical to 3 german/rotties I see on a regular basis. They are about 4 months old now. Sorry to say, but the people you got him from lied, he is not a full blooded shep.

neat looking dog whatever he is. you should be very happy that you have a strong confident looking pup even if not strictly a purebred.

Thanks for your answers. I got the feeling he wasnt purebred like the seller told me . But since i didnt hear much opinions before, i wasnt really sure. Im cool with him being either pure breed or mix, i just wanted to know so I can confront the seller, you know, cus i paid for a gsd and got a mix. but other than that, i just wanted to know :) Thanks!

Mixed breed for sure, i was just visiting my traininer and he has 7 week old shepherd puppies and they already have their ears up (mostly) the smaller female still has one sort of floppy ear. but itat will fix itself soon. Ao if he was 4 to 5 months and no erect ears he won't be getting them either. Plus his coat and body build are not real sheperdy like. she coat is very short looking. And lots and lots of breeds come in the clasis black and tan.

But he's a cute little bugger and i hope you have lots of fun with him pure bred or not.

Rottie/GSD looking to me too. I still remember my rottweiler girl as a puppy and your pup has the same look that she had at that age.

He sure is a cutie! I love how in that last frame his tail's a wagging blur; such a happy tyke! Teeth Smile

I've seen a few very lanky GSD pups from American lines; not from show breeders though. He looks a lot like my rottie mix did when she was a pup. Either way, he's adorable, and just looks like he's waiting to get into mischief. Purebred or not, I hope he brings you many years of smiles and joy ^_^
