Nathan Cirillo had a real heart for our 4-legged friends, as these photos clearly show:

I hope the dogs he rescued will find good, loving homes.
Mods, I really would appreciate it if you could leave the thread here and not move to Off Topic, where the discussion of Nathan's death is focusing on ideology, rather than honouring a wonderful, compassionate human being. Thank you!

My first thought, when I heard the news of this man's murder, in addition to the other madness that has occured in Canada over the past few days, was simply this: When people in what is generally considered to be one of the most polite societies in the world begin randomly shooting others around them, humanity has truly gone to hell in a handbasket.
And now it's even worse, to learn that he was a dog man on top of everything else.
Heaven-speed, Corporal Cirillo. You surely were met by the whole community across the Bridge, welcoming you to a safe place for all.

There is a very warm place in my heart for brother Cirillo. His compassion and passion for our four-legged friends should never be forgotten. In like manner, the spurious sole of that worthless ass-whole, scum-bag who took his life should find a himself condemned to very special and agonizing place in Hell. An individual who interprets any religious doctrine to condone , abide or tolerate such disgusting hatred is truly a sick and cowardly human and the religion he/she supports or promotes has no place in a civilized society. Anyone who thinks or tolerates such disgusting behavior must appoint themselves to a position of being grossly less than human. Hopefully those who accept, tolerate or condone the existence of those less than human creatures will find their life on this earth to be replete with unforgivable heathenism, unmeasurable misery, unrelenting pain and insufferable agony.

Hexe that was also my reaction to this violence, now I know the world has truly gone mad. God bless his poor family, including those heartbroken dogs.

The man who ended the confrontation by shooting the gunman. RCMP Inspector Vickers has been a policeman for many years. He carries the mace into the House of Commons in the daily procession, but his role is not just ceremonial He is in charge of security for the Parliament buildings and all of its staff.
