I received this info. on face book.
For all people that went to the WUSV with their dogs (spectators and/or participants)
One of the Dutch dogs got very sick out of nothing today and she decided to go to the vet immediately. This because the dog showed similar symptoms as the dogs that got infected in Kiev in 2011.
It turned out today that the dog had pyroplasmose. Which is not contagious but is transferred by ticks. The right antidote for this is called imidocarp (could be wrong spelling). In several countries this is not available or only in 1 certain place. In Holland and France it's for sure available.
Check your dogs, first symptoms could be very little energy and dark pee. Which later turns into peeing blood. It can be fatal!!
Please share this with everyone you know that was in France last week. Thanks!

I know a German dog who just died of this as well...:( I was looking at purchasing a dog of theirs and they emailed me today saying their other dog had died and they were so upset, they were no longer selling her. Beautiful boy, only 6 years old. Terrible, fast illness.
