As fas as I can tell, it's not forbidden here or against any of the TOS' to ask if there would be any interest in yet another GSD FB account? It would be open to anyone with an interest in the breed, members would need to use their own names. It would be a moderated account. There would be no specific forums and any topic concerning the breed including club activities, show wins, titles, training, etc would be permitted.
As most already know I have an OB titled AKC CH with a BH and an AD sired by a V rated Sch 3 CH. I've previously owned a 100% Sch 3 V rated at the German Sieger, advanced OB titled female, another 100% GSL pet and a 1/2 ASL. 1/2 GSL Dingo g-g grandson. I consider all GSD's to be of great value regardless of their pedigree and would expect members to accept the same attitude about the breed. The my-dog-is-better-than-your-dog philosophy would not be tolerated.
Any comments pro or con would be appreciated. I'm not looking to spend more time on the net, but I think that FB will soon replace most of the other venues used today. This board provides some very unique and valuable information that could never be duplicated on a FB account. My intent would not be to compete with the PDB, but rather to try to provide a less threatening venue where members would be expected to be respectful of one another. I've had a good bit of experience with a Malamute breed board I started about 12 years ago, first as a Yahoogroup, now as a FB account to comply with the wishes of my members. In those years the membership has grown from a handful of Mal breeders and owners, mostly friends, to over 600, most of whom are active. The membership is now closed.
Everyone I know wants a FB account for their dog discussions. They like the ease of posting photos and the ability to share their messages and photos with their friends.
At any rate, that's what has been rattling around in my brain for many months now and I thought it was time to see if I was on to something good or not. If you have comments you'd rather not post here, pm me at gone2dadawgs2001@yahoo.com. I

I'd love to have both of you as members should I decide to start a FB account. It's still up in the air.
You know I'll get you for that, Dawulf .

Seriously speaking
FB has certain negative sides, once you become a friend to a certain account, all friends of that account can see your personal account with all personal info, social, ploitical .................... views and can like and comment on all your posts and that will be a real mess as you can't then seperate dog interest that combines us from other aspects that seperate us. Just a thought.
