I talked to them and their dogs are registered FCI so there is no way to get those dogs registered AKC?

The FCI is not a registry, it is a federation of kennel clubs. The FCI (and therefore AKC) recognized kennel club in Portugal is Clube Portuges de Canicultura. If their dogs are registered through that you can AKC register them.
