Question, when did the WDA change their name?
I was looking at the document just signed by the WDA and the WUSV and noticed that the name of the WDA is different. http://www.gsdca-wda.org/documents/pdf/WUSV-WDA%20Agreement%20(09-06-2014).pdf
The correct name has always been German Shepherd Dog Club of America - Working Dog Association on the document it is German Shepherd Dog - Working Club of America Dog Association (WDA).
How could Dan Yee sign a document in the name of an organization that does not exist? Looking for a legal opinion here, but if the name of the organization is not correct is the document binding? Hard to believe that Herr Henke does not know the correct name of the WDA and that Dan Yee did not notice that and ask to have it corrected.

why are you on a dog forum asking for a legal opinion? go ask an attorney and then prove your "damages"

I am on a dog forum asking this question because if the organization has changed it's name it did so in violation of their by-laws. If they did not change their name then how can they claim to have a binding agreement. The WDA has been claiming this as a ground breaking agreement, but it does not even have the organization's correct name on it.
If this document is not valid than it effects a lot of German Shepherd dog owners who belong to this dog association.

I care about the German Shepherd Dog. I know that a strong breed must have a strong organization to protect and direct the best interests of the breed. I come to this ''chat room'' because it sometimes operates as a FORUM. Keep asking the questions of the politicals! Require them to answer for the good of the breed. Sometimes the politicals do really stupid things, sometimes they do really good things, and sometimes they try to pull ''the wool over'' the eyes of the flock. Be a good Shepherd, ask the questions.

Simple, when the WDA, GSDCA and USCA became recognized by the WUSV the dog community became one. Every GSD owner has access to the WUSV world through all of these organizations by means of the WUSV Constitution. When the WDA signed on, they inherited any member of USCA and the GSDCA into their business. Every GSD owner has a vested interest in each of the WUSV recognized clubs as they are entitled to participate in all of their activities.
To expand a little. There are now three suppliers of SV services. They all now compete to provide these services to the Community. They all are competing to service their customers. If these clubs want to benefit, they need to become as consumer friendly as possible.

Every Officer of an organization has a fiduciary responsibility to run the business of the club properly. They must follow by-laws of the club and the laws of the land correctly. Any officer who takes a path which weakens their club because it mires them in the legal system is a bad officer. Could 3 become 2 quicker? Bad decisions will make for a death spiral of problems.

Christine:
I thought the name change strange also. I suspect it is just a matter of the folks drawing up the agreement not having a good understanding of how to translate the name. Though I can't say for certain but I would think, given his legal training and activities, that if Mr. Yee had input into the preparation of the document he would have had it corrected to the actual name of the organization unless the club had somehow changed its legal name.

If i,m not mistaken the WDA is only recognized "thru" the GSDCA at this time. I believe thats what all this legal to and fro is going to decide for certain
