Is steroid use a current problem for police officers?  Each person must examine the evidence and do their own research and then decide for themselves.  Here are a few articles to start with. All steroid use as well as any hormone use can pose medical, psychological, and behavioral risks and users need to be informed before they start using them. Police who use 'roids are playing with fire, risking their jobs and can pose increased risk for the community, especially those they perceive as weak and unable to sue or cause them trouble.  For example, if they have a pretext to use physical restraint or force, this can serve as an excuse for use of excessive force, and this can be masked in some cases by "charging up" the suspect with multiple charges and exaggerated clais by the police officer that uses the excessive force.

GG: Good observation. And usually the response of a narcissist under attack. If one doesn't believe their version of events, things tend to get ugly.

by Preston on 25 July 2011 - 12:07

gg, all your posts sem sarcastic and critical of my posts.  You seem to have an attitude typical of folks who make their money off of taxpayers.  And your knowledge of psychology appears abysmal.

Beetree, you really don't have a clue and cannot process it.  You asked for clarification and then accuse of parsing.

Hey, I posted something you both will probably be quite interested in, on DU.  Take a looksee.

by beetree on 25 July 2011 - 13:07

Preston, you just avoided the original question, again, wonder why? Who is the non-processing one? Not me.

LOL!  I teach at a private school so no taxpayer money is paying my salary!  Critical of you, yes.  You have at least 10 threads on the OT forum most of which are about conspiracy theories and on other people's threads, you always try to turn those into conspiracy theories.  As a teacher, I too observe a lot of personality disorders and one of my coworkers has a PhD in psychology so I learn a lot from him.  You have shown your arrogance on more than one occasion and in my opinion, you are engaging in a type of bullying on this forum.  So, yes I'm critical of you.  And, by the way, being overly sensitive to criticism is another symptom of narcissism.

by Preston on 25 July 2011 - 21:07

gg, you have been on my case right from the start.  You should know better.  Folks can decide for themselves what to read and believe.  You are acting like a control freak and making judgements about issues you know very little about.  You just keep engaging in personal attacks on me.  This really tells more about your behavior trying to control what others think and this is a known occupational problem with some school teachers. If you don't like my posts, just ignore them. No need to function so immaturely.  No need to try to function as my superego. I thought personal attacks and serial personal criticisms were against the TOS.  If you want to presist in making this personal, why not PM me and we can keep it away from the forum readers and spare them this.

Another example of police gone wild?  CPS too?  Snitch society? More religious persecution of Jews?  You decide.

Seems to me you have also attacked me as well as others on various threads with some pretty immature comments yourself.  Guess you are oblivious to that or are you suffering from memory loss?

by Preston on 25 July 2011 - 22:07

gg, again you stalk me with almost each post I make and continue to make personal attacks.  This suggests you may have a problem. As I suggested if you want to keep taking this personal why not stop following my posts and go straight to the source by PMing your criticisms and armchair DXing to me directly.  This would take it off the public part of the forum and save, space and keep the pi**ing match from others.  But you can do what you want.  This is just a suggestion.  But if you persist then do not be surprised if I counter your remarks with my own, which I would rather not do.

Preston,

Maybe I missed something in all these threads? Page 4 your first post you stated "I would meet with another psychologist ...." meaning you are a psychologists, (or were). But for the love of me it seems you don't want us to know that.

I, along with others will say "why bother or don't bother" responding to you or your threads. I'm only curious for myself; In my eyes it must take a lot of EFFORT and TIME to bring forward even the ? embedded topics, let alone typing the "experiences" you state you are familiar with due to personal, acquaintance, colleagues, trials, etc., etc.

My question or questions is WHY? Why do you do what you do the way you do it? What are you attempting to gain or accomplish? Are you on a mission? Or is it a CD that you either have to say something, type something, and this is my opinion, but this is just me, why talk about things you have no control over? Or things that honestly don't affect you or have any bearing on your life, existence, or even quality of life? I'm stumped. Now yes we can talk about anything and everything but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that you love to stir the waters, but why? What is the overall outcome you are looking to accomplish? Conspiracies, governments and so so cops. What's up? Working with and knowing I would think close to 300-350 cops not one of us messed around with steroids. And some of us were BIG. Like I said earlier; we don't get younger but the perps do. We got to have the advantage, plain and simple. We are going home at the end of our shift. And no scumbag is going to change that. The everyday person has no clue about crime and criminals. Take the basic example of how things were when we were kids; respect our elders, respect our parents...or else, respect our teachers and authority figures. The generations now and coming..... The MAJORITY you can toss all that out the window. Individuals not afraid to take on a cop, not afraid to do the crime. And depending on geographical location and it doesn't have to be a large metropolitan area there are JUNGLES out there and the crime is non stop. My first department, the Town was only maybe @ 4 S.M. but it had 29% of all crime for the County and bordered D.C. so had their crime/criminals jumping to our side. IT WAS NON-STOP! 24/7. Turning over arrestees was like going through a turnstile door. As soon as we were back on the street we were bringing more back to D.O.C. STAY ALIVE! Priority #!.

So, for me, I really try (some times) to figure out what you're attempting to accomplish? Quit being so secretive. Bring something to the table that can BENEFIT the majority.... You'll never make everyone happy.
