No one can prove how she died so it could have been an accident even though Casey is now a convicted liar, and IMO, also fails as a mother who did not protect her daughter. The jury did their job, unfortunately no justice can be found yet for Caylee, if ever. This case brings home the fact that if a jury concludes one is "Not Guilty" , it does not equate to being "Innocent".

They didn't convict because the evidence was lacking and poorly presented by the prosecution. It is that simple.
Where is your outrage when an innocent is put to death?

I'm beginning to think the MSM is promoting this divisive question of the legitimacy of the jury system for a reason.
Kinda like whole electoral college issue, where minds are influenced to exchange traditional elements of the American justice system for another, due to the perceived injustice of a particular instance under unpopular circumstances.
What I don't understand is why the prosecution chose Casey Anthony over George Anthony for prosecution. It seemed to me in this trial that all the evidence pointed to George Anthony from the prosecution, then the defense backed it up in cross examinations, multiple times.
I understand the jury did the right thing here, because there was no evidence Casey Anthony killed her child. BUT, for a 2 year old who apparently drowned in a pool accident, then thrown in a trash bag, then thrown in a garbage pile, then wild animals ate her to have NO Justice at all except for 4 counts of lying to Police is staggering. How can a swimming pool accident appear to be a planned murder ? It's almost like saying post birth abortion by any means is now legal. Sickening if you care to know what I think.
IMO the prosecution is to blame not the jury nullification. They should have prosecuted George Anthony ... it's no wonder why George Anthony tried to commit suicide. And it's no wonder why George Anthony walked out during the verdict. Scumball got away with covering up the death his 2 year old grand daughter.

BabyEagle, I am with you, I believe that George Anthony had a lot more to do with Caylee's death. I also believe the prosecution didn't take the time to fully investigate, especially the George Anthony angle. I do believe that the jury understood the reasonable doubt part of convicting someone on the FACTS presented and not on personal feelings about the defendant.
SockPuppet, Ninja, can we please stay on thread, I understand this verdict upset you both, but by snarfing at each other, you take the attention away from the purpose of the thread

Except Mindhunt,
It was Casey who didn't report HER child missing! How does that reconcile with "George did it!" I doesn't, IMO.

Ya and the Jury didn't have the MSM commentary either, like we the public did. It's my understanding all 14 of the Jury had no idea who Casey and Calee Anthony were apon selection, then once selected had no access to the MSM, newspapers, radio, commentary etc.
Which would make a HUGE difference in the facts presented during the trial and concluded verdict, IMO.
I dunno, I've never been on Jury Duty, but I would assume understanding the pre-trial and Jury selection this is how it was.

I also don't think it is too far fetched to think that George offered himself up to "save" his daughter. If that is the case then it worked!

I think it's safe to say Casey, Cindy and George Anthony would be a whole lot safer in jail than on the streets.

Unless your a juror who heard the evidence you have nothing but opinions.....and an orifice most people take for granted.
by beetree on 06 July 2011 - 19:07
BabyEagle, do you think the method of presentation of "facts" can change "the facts"? Don't you think you would be smart enough as a juror to see through something like that? If you are a juror you don't necessarily need to have lived in a bubble and not know of the accused. You just need to be able to be impartial, a sometimes difficult skill, true enough.
