by Penny on 27 September 2006 - 20:09

Mine? Those words and letters, or numbers, that follow your mouse around when you are trying to navigate the site.... drives me nuts... Mo - Mascani GSD`s.

Boy I thought this would get more replies Thanks Penny for repling (yes, that can be a pain).. AND if you were thinking what does this have to do with GERMAN SHEPHERDS???? More then some of the foolish BS that has been posted latly!! . There are thousands of web sites that need help and this was one way for people to see what other peoples thoughts were and what they liked and didn't like.

I agree with Penny and EKvon Earnhardt. I also dont like websites that dont tell you the last time it was updated. Your looking at puppy pictures that are 2 years old. You should always "last updated" on the website.

I don't like when they don't have enough info, Pedigrees and such readily available. A must is... video's of the dogs in action. Anybody can take a flattering picture of even the ugliest dog. I want to see the dog move and work. What's on paper doesn't always impress me.

by Xenon on 29 September 2006 - 03:09

What gets me is the length of time it takes the site you are looking at, or trying to, to load. 4pack You said you want video's of the dogs in action? Sometimes that isnt possible, especially with ISP's and even the so called free sites giving out less and less MB. Not only that but a video also takes up a lot of bandwidth on a site, which takes longer to load and even then sometimes the quality of the video isnt that good anyhow. I absolutely agree with penny, boy those things make me berzerk too, your trying to look around and you've got this line of letters bouncing all over the place. Also a concern is time to load, if it's gonna take 2 hours count me out. So Dislikes : long time to upload photos/site little quirky things all over the page too few photos no "Real" photos, ie family time, play time stuff like that no pedigree info available. no previous breeder history available. Likes quick uploads no funky stuff many many many photos pedigree links ofa info or links guest book or testimonials guest counter, I like to see how many others have visisted. updates updates and more updates. I like to see sites updated often. copy of contract offered. About the breeder, I like to read about him/her see if I like what they have to say before calling. I also like to see phone numbers offered and to see that they are willing to spend time with me on the phone. That's all I can think of at the moment. first and foremost though is Ease of Navagation !!

My personal pet peves are when the pages are not uniform and the menu is moved from one page to the next!! I hate having to scroll all the way down the page to find the site menue and I don't like pics of dogs that only show them stacked, or worse yet only a head-shot. I don't like it when they don't have a testimonial page and don't undate the site often enough. I also don't like it when they don't put up their phone number and only give an email address. I also hate it when there are lots of puppy pictures and no info on who the sire/dam are (as in pics on the testimonial page) I want that information!! I guess I have more pet peves than I thought....LOL

EKvonEarnhardt, I can share your frustration! I cannot stand horrible poor quality pictures on a business website. I say if you are able to afford quality German shepherds that you can certainly afford a nice digital camera that takes good quality pictures. I also cannot stand it when people try to cover up pictures, especially photo shopping it to make the dogs coat redder (even to the uneducated eyes can see the touchups)… when I see crap like that I stay away from that breeder. One last thing… it would be helpful and useful if people can learn to stack up their dogs! It is very easy but it must take a lot of patience.

"One last thing… it would be helpful and useful if people can learn to stack up their dogs! It is very easy but it must take a lot of patience." Are you shitting me Banus? You can not even post a nice picture of your own dog stacked, yet you have the nerve to post here about people's pictures of dogs that are not stacked. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/121705.html
