I had someone question me today about descending testicles in a puppy. I have no clue as to how to answer, so thought I'd ask...At what age should you start to worry if a pups testies aren't descending?

I like to be able to feel them at 6 weeks, if they are not both down by 8 weeks I still don't worry - if they are not down by 3 months I worry - if they are not down by 4 months I don't think they are coming down. But I have heard about testicles dropping as late as 6 months.

By six weeks, it is very obvious. if none or only 1 is seen by this time, chances are, it will be like this forever.

A friend of mine had a litter with 2 males neither had testicles until they were about 8-10 wks old. But they both got them both, lol.
Another friend of mine bought a pup from Leerburg, he didn't get his family jewels till he was about 3-4 months old.
Take care,
Melanie

Thanks guys and gals. Always appretiate others experiences. This pup is 3 months and one can easily be felt. The vet was a bit concerned but I kinda thought it wasn't a huge deal until after 6 months. I never take 1 vets word as gossple. NO biggie, as she doesn't want to breed him and he will be neutered anyway.
