JFU I dont know where you are from but you can contact the AKC who can send you the DNA test kits by mail, their fee is $40. Dont know about the SV rules but I would assume the AKC DNA is recognized.

could you tell me what is required for the DNA test and how does it work???

AKC mails you a kit with a swab, you apply the swab into the dogs mouth cheek area to obtain saliva, you insert it back into the envelope and mail it back to AKC with your check for $40 they process it and mail you results back with a DNA nr.

Thanks a bunch I just need to know would the AKC thing be the same basic thing as the SV thing that says DNA?????

If you want to verify parents on a dog the DNA of both parents must be on file with either AKC or with the SV. It is my understanding that the SV does not recognize nor have any way to verify parents if the testing is not done by their method. You can get a DNA profile on your dog from AKC but this does not verify parents unless you have AKC DNA on both parents then it can be verified.

Also, one last thing to remember is that you must have the owner of each parent to your dog sign the now required form from the AKC in order to get the dog's DNA parentage evaluation.

Hello Vom Felsenhof,
what I gathered from your discussion is DNA certifiacte is just the identity of that individual dog and it does not verify or proves the parents of the dog. I would like to ask you
1) Suppose I am buying a dog from Germany, and the dog is DNA certified that does not prove the parentage of that dog. What is the meaning of DNA certified written on pedigree paper.
2) What should we ask for to confirm the parentage of the dog?
