Could anyone tell me how to purchase a dog from Germany.I know about pet passports but how do you and who do you trust when trying to purchase a dog?

If you don't know anyone in Germany that you can trust....OR know someone who DOES know someone...then your best bet is to go through a reputable broker. You'll pay for their service, but at least will be assured you'll get your dog. I am fortunate to have friends in Germany and always go through them....trust me. I learned the hard way.

There ARE a lot of breeders here(assuming you are in the USA) that have wonderful bloodlines(puppies). The only difference is the geographical boundaries of where the puppies were born(USA soil or German soil). Depending on the "pick" at the time you get your puppy(assuming you want a puppy)you may even come out ahead getting a puppy from a breeder here in the states. You never know. If you want a titled adult dog, that is another story, I suppose. Stephen

We live in the UK.I do know people who go to Germany but it is wether or not they would help us by finding a dog etc.I want to bring one in to help establish our line as we are a new kennel over here and i got stitched up big time by a so called expert breeder.

Forgot to add that i would be open to co-ownership or breeding terms of a dog.

devon, I wanted to send you a friend's email in the UK, but could not send you mail from this site(your mailbox address is disabled). Email me through this site and I will pass a kennel name to you.

When you buy a dog from Gemany you need to check first who will be looking after that dog for the 6 months that the dog is sitting idle while waiting to complete the UK Pet Import Scheme. Not every breeder or seller has the space for such a long time. We get inquiries all the time from people asking for dogs with import scheme already completed. Seriously, no one will just get a dog started on the pet import scheme on the chance that someone from the UK might perchance end up buying the dog. There are alternatives as to how you can make better use of the time. If interested in learning more, please contact me privately.

devon, Can you send me an email? I can help you to get connected with somebody who will NOT screw you. I know this person very well and so far has nothing but good compliments. I do not recommend getting a puppy from Germany, simply because they do not guarantee their puppies. Look at what happen in Jantie case. If you’re looking for a female puppy theirs one available from top show line breeding with super working drives just contact me and I will give you the appropriate connections.

Especially when importing a dog under a pet import scheme which involves so much extra cost, a puppy would be the least sensible choice. But I am sure you were not asking about a puppy.
