First off, thanks to the moderators for removing what started out a while ago as an angry sounding thread - I think it was up for only a short while, and I think it's great that this site can stay free of alot of that. The irony is that by this person starting the thread, I (and probably countless others who are pretty new to this board) checked user submitted comments on all the names involved and there was some interesting reading material about a certain topic I would have not seen otherwise. Sometimes it's just best to let sleeping dogs lie.

The reason for the post was to point out that the moderators are flaming under different user names! nothing more. They are doing this on several boards, as a form of harassment. You can not make highly inflamitory and untrue statements on one hand and be in charge of monitoring on the other. It's more like the wolf's guarding the sheep.

I am glad we have moderators, and I think they are doing a great job. As for people having several screen IDs - I bet there are people on this board who have so many names they can support their own arguments. Unless a board requires people to post under their real names, this multiple ID stuff is going to happen - and even then, it may still happen. By posting your unhappiness about the moderators, you stirred up a topic that was long past on this board. I think most people really like this site and are glad to have it up and running. I also think that the general consensus - at least among people I know - is that the site is now a higher quality than it was before - threads stay on the original topics better, there is less bashing, and personal junk seems to now stay out of it. I for one appreciate the work of the moderators, and I don't really care who they are or where else they post. This site needed them badly, and they are getting the job done.

Why was the thread removed yet the posts that started this were not?

I agree with LaPorte.

LaPorte "there are people on this board who have so many names they can support their own arguments" These people should not be the moderators! That's all.

Good grief! It's a widespread problem in all forums I'm sure, so if you don't like the way it's set up, you don't have to visit. Simple, obvious solution. "Dominique" has just joined as a ID that can post, and so far, it's all on one topic - complaining about the moderators and how 'she' (because after all, we don't know gender either, but I am assuming that Dominique is a woman) thinks they are related to a past issue. The more you complain, the more people are going to wonder what's up. Get a life! It's a GREAT SITE! Going on more about this topic is like proverbially beating a dead horse.

True, I have not had a reason to post before. I have been visiting this site for over five years. I was doing some research and came across some very odd posts, when I checked the boards regarding this topic I was relieved to see that the moderators seemed to be very clear on what is allowed and what is not. I then wondered why some posts are left and some are deleted? I discovered that the reason they have not been deleted is because they are being posted by the moderators under different user names. One can post under many different names, but you only have one IP address. Questioning my gender and name make me wonder about you.

IP addresses can be changed in routers, by using machines at work vs at home, by using different telephone numbers...and since NO ONE but Oli and [presumably mods] see the IDs it is very hard to actually prove some of these fake IDs...of course when IDs sign up is public info, and so are their posts! There are occassionally some very very obvious ones who only come on to harass and promote a specific person/circumstance...but some of these claims have no justification in even logic. Of course a pattern can be seen and followed if a person changes pedigrees using both sign in IPs, and changes IDs in the same session! But since none of US can see it ....!!!

Some were left and some were removed, because we weren't able to get to all 85+ pages of messageboard and 95 pages of comments. Each has to be read and deleted one by one. Everything single post/comment has to be looked at and it's alot of work which hopefully will be able to be completed.
