I am feeding my puppy mostly raw, with a little kibble.
Can or should I give him cottage cheese, yougurt, or a hard boiled egg once in a while? What about supplements? Should I be adding supplements to his food? If any of you are using supplements, would you e-mail me privately on which supplements you are using.
Thank-you,
Dawn Bonome

This is a subject near and dear to my heart, but I'm still fairly new at raw feeding so I hope we can publically share information about what we are all doing.
The main component of the meals we feed are raw meaty bones - chicken parts more often than anything else. We inlclude a chicken liver at almost every meal. We use organ parts (gizzards most often) to adjust meal weights (i.e. X chicken parts would be too much, so we use X-1 chicken parts and make up the rest of the meal weight with gizzards).
Every other day we feed one raw egg, shell included.
Once per week we feed a fish meal (mainly canned mackerel - hopefully this summer some fresh fish will be available at a reasonable cost).
Every meal we include Omega 3 fish oil and 500 mg vit C.
Once per day we include Olewo carrots. (opinions on this vs. using raw carrots or other veggies ground in the blender? I'm not talking about cost difference...)
We feed twice per day.
We started this feeding program in early January this year, and have been very pleased with the results. Of special note, we had one dog that was perpetually underweight, and an older dog that we were having trouble with too much weight. Both of these dogs are now eating satisfying amounts of food (they seem very satisfied anyway!) and both weight problems are well under control.
Any opinions and ideas from the more experienced would be welcome.
Thanks,
DTW

Oops - one more thing. We have read that vitamin E is important for proper processing of fish oil, but that too much vit. E might be a problem - mixed info on this point. So we do give Vit E - but not at every meal. One capsule every other day is what we're currently doing. I would definitely welcome opinions and more info on that.

Along with the raw meat I feed the following:
1 raw egg including shell every other day
Solid Gold Sea Meal
Solid Gold Bone Meal
MSM
1500mg Ester-C
I also use a supplement called Bio-Fats that has like 5 different types of oils mixed into one. (Salmon, Cod Liver, Flax seed, and some others I can't recall at the moment)
