Just felt like showing off some new photos of Brego. He looks like a little carbon copy of his dad. :) Feel free to critique him. Though I have told he lacks secondary sex characteristics and needs more bone. Not sure we are seeing the same 8 month old puppy LOL. Or maybe I'm just biased.

Training went really well last night, he is shoving into the bite and decoy, couldn't be happier with him. He is always ready to work, which is both a blessing and a curse lol.

Well, I'm a big fan of the dam's sire line. Strong, strong dogs with brains and gorgeous structure. Hopefully she has a lot of influence on him.

I don't think he looks bad. Who said he did? I think he looks typical of the bulk of his lines for his age. He'll fill out. Might not change the ear set/base which is the only thing that jumps out at me that I DON'T care for. He's kind of leggy (which I like but many don't) which might be why people are saying he could be heavier boned? I think his bone is medium and perfectly acceptable. He's a GSD, not a Mastiff. Overall, he's harmonious looking. 8 months old is not a great age. They don't all look their best at that age. Let's see him at 2. Wink Smile

More importantly, is he healthy? Good temperament?

I agree with Jenni and Joan, he is beautiful. I did a detailed critique but wasn't submitted successfully, all is good, only two things which are not very good at this time , shoulder could use more angle/blade could use more lay, also he is a bit stretched.

Substance, bones and head will look much better when he is fully mature, a beautiful boy with beautiful face expression. Enjoy him.

Easy was primarily the reason I jumped on this breeding. I wanted a puppy from her before she was imported over, just happened to have to wait a few years.  :) Drago is just icing on the cake.

Nobody important but I was very confused that it seemed to be a very constant comment, especially because they thought he looked like a female. I'm not going to take any critique at this age too seriously but I do like having photos to compare to later on.

He's been very healthy so far. The only thing that has given us issues is Pano which is not something I didn't expect since it seems to happen in a lot of Drago progeny. Hardest part is keeping him still as he's got a lot of energy. I emphasize how fun it is to work with him in OB because he's a very fast paced, easily motivated dog and wants to be doing things.  He would probably be a pain in the neck to the average person if he didn't have an outlet. If you give him an inch he will take a mile.

I'm sorry, I was asking more of a rhetorical question, just trying to say that what a few likely ignorant people said about him at 8 months old (kind of awkward age for a lot of males) matters a lot less than what you know to be true, and whether he's healthy and nice tempered and able to perform what you intended.

Just wait a while, and then proof the "experts" wrong.
I want to see pictures of your guy in the age of 2 1/2.... - but I´m willing to wait...Clown

Ah, gotcha.  I kind of figured though, since we all get the same "wait and see" comments whenever a young dog is posted. Two years is too long of a wait not to show him off LOL. If I really believed them I would have just kept him locked up and hidden from view. :P
