I just read the CDC website regarding foreign dog imports. It says that ALL dogs must be at least 6 months old at the time of travel after August 2024!
Can this be right?i

It's really awful isn't it?
In the letter I wrote to both CDC and my Representative, I pointed out that reputable breeders have the birthdate of their pups recorded and validated with their respective kennel clubs, but any so-called "rescue" can just pick a date out of thin air and assign it to any dog they want. I'm sure we'll get a lot of "six month old" pups that are in reality much younger than that, just because there's no way of knowing. Of course they are going to keep shipping in underaged dogs with falsified paperwork by the hundreds - the people doing it right will pay the price while those who created this problem will keep on doing it.
Edited to add: Americans who don't like this rule, please do write your Representative. Complaining on facebook does nothing, lobbying elected officials does. Point out how damaging this rule is to your business operations. Canadians, support the CKC as it's working on this as well and have done a lot to get these very stupid new rules rolled back.
