Not even the videos so much as the comments by the jerks.

I saw there's another thread on here asking for videos.  I haven't checked it out, remembering the poor John Kennedy fiasco - someone posts a video and people immediately start ripping it apart.

So then out there in cyberland would be, even if you & your dog are top-notch, all kinds of comments of people saying you have no idea what you're doing, your dog is out of control, etc. - a legal nightmare.

Although now that I think of it, the line has to be drawn somewhere: if I was the type who posted anything at all to YouTube, I would post my videos.  Can't let the negative b******s run your life.

 Tess,

What part of Canada do you live in?   Isn't one of the provinces less "dog-friendly" than others?

by TessJ10 on 24 February 2009 - 21:02

Canada?  Nope, not me.

I don't give a rat's ass about the comments,  I just don't want my dog's video's to end up being an attorney's wet dream.  "see spot run.  See spot bite the man...there and there and there.....See how perverted owner LIKES it when Spot bites the man (gasps of horror from the peanut gallery oops I mean jury).................What a horrible and irresponsible owner and what a dangerous dog!"  "OFF WITH HER HEAD AND SHOOT THAT DAMN DOG TOO"

It could turn a small issue into a huge lawsuit. I don't even have any still photos in my photobucket of any type of bitework w/my dogs. I have them on discs in my own possession for future reference, and absolutely nowhere else. I won't even email them to friends. Too many opportunists in the world. I have enough problems.

Sueincc, that is one of the main reasons I don't put protection work videos on the net. I have already had pictures of Loki "borrowed" and put on other websites without my permission from this database (reference last year's thread by Oli on the subject). You said it well, why give the idiots more ammunition.

What I meant about the comments is that they would be used by the lawyer.  Doesn't matter that they're from know-nothings.  The lawyer's dream would definitely include, Look, and all these other dog trainers say over and over again that she doesn't know what she's doing and that the dog is totally not in control!  Therefore it was a danger!  She posted these videos, was told by other dog trainers that the dog was a disaster, so she KNEW, etc. etc. etc.

Ridiculous to you & me, yes, but that's exactly what would happen.

Oh okay, I see what you are saying, and I agree.

@ Jeff O.: These methods (helicoptering, and such) are still arround, they have not been replaced by the ecollar.

and before ecollars, not everyody used them torture devices, like sharpened prongs etc. and oh wonder they still had well trained dogs....
