Hi there. I have a 20 weeks DDR male puppy he is 20 inches and 50 pounds.this is my first working line puppy .I read they take longer to grow than show line . So I wonder if there is a growth chart for that specific breed or if is not any different from the standard chart
Mom is 87 pounds and Dad 100 the name is t bone von sonoline and picture is not updated Sorry I didn't copy to the keyboard.

Sounds oversized. I don't think you'll find a chart of that. Your male will likely end up the same height and weight as his sire if the sire isn't overweight. Just let your pup grow according to his own requirements. Don't over or under feed, and he'll grow properly.

I'd say oversized as the picture of his sire shows a rather oversized looking pup:

Almost looks like he is part Rottweiler or his head was photoshopped on a Rottweiler puppy's body. LOL I love how awkward and silly oversized dogs look as puppies. Also, his mother is oversized if she is really 87 or more pounds, the most a normal working line female GSD should be is 75 lbs. Working line dogs are often thought to be huge heavy dogs when they are in fact not. The are strong dogs but lighter weight to really run and be carried easier. (Carried as in lugged around by a solider or officer when needed.)

Thanks .I love that boy .I just want him to be strong and healthy. I'm spending a crazy amount of time in forums and web site trying to find the perfect food for him.so far I've been comparing Victor, taste of the wild and Fromm .he likes Fromm better but is hard to find the results I get from taste of the wild.however the adults I have do better with Victor. maybe is too hot now for high protein food here in Miami for the puppy.

Victor, last I checked, only had maybe one formula that was safe for large breed puppies. TOTW has ZERO. WAY too much calcium and are not safe. For a dog with that kind of predisposition to be hugely oversized (unless you're measuring him from the wrong point), I'd be extra careful.

Here are a few, off the top of my head, that I have verified safe for large breed puppies via manufacturer's "as tested" guaranteed analysis.

Fromm- Large Breed Puppy Gold, Beef Frittata Veg
American Natural Premium- Orignal, Grain-free Fish, Grain-free duck, Exhibitor's Choice
Nature's Variety Instinct Rabbit
Annamaet- Encore, Extra, Ultra
Wellness CORE- PUPPY (only puppy! Not regular Core!) This one is on the high end but just barely squeaks by under the limit.

Thanks for the info .I have him now on Fromm large breed puppy. My adult female is doing great with Victor hero canine which has 1.2 calcium but include glucosamine but she does better with it than any other i've tried and she is rather on the small side about 66 pounds 1 year and 4 months. And the puppy looks like a monster but is actually 51 pounds like chart indicate.maybe the fact that he is a bit long haired make him look bigger
