Ok.. when do you guys "cease" training, if you do, after a bitch is bred? Do you keep her doing the same til confirmed pregnancy? Do you keep tracking and maybe OB but no protection? do you just keep her active til the end? Do you cease the "jumps" altogether etc.... curious what folks do :) Regards, Dawnmarie

I still do tracking and obedience. I usually stop doing protection even before confirmation since the pups are usually implanting into the uterus around 21 days. I stop doing the jumps/walls when they start showing. I'll play ball, let them swim in the pool. Then the last couple of wks they usually just get to hang out since they're normally getting bigger and more uncomfortable by then.

Hi DawnMarie Keep your dogs exercised but reasonably. No jumping, no protection work, etc. I put mine on Puppy Brand of dog food as soon as I get a good first tie, I just assume with 30 minute tie they took so I feed heavy, before hand I have wormed my bitches, shots, etc. I would not ask anything that takes alot of energy or jumping the wall, even tracking to upset her if you want a nice litter of pups without a hassell. I pamper my bitches after a first good tie, giving lots of supplements, puppy food, fresh water and just walk them around a mall, a ride in the auto to walk in a different place. I keep them exercised, but using my head about over doing the things she did before being bred, preserve that litter best u can until whelp time. i have a bitch that whelps 4 days early so just keep a close eye on her, they often fool you. Kinda treat her like you would want treated, but exercised daily, playing comfortably, loving her and encouraging her to be a good girl. she will deliver. who is she bred to just curious?? Jill

My female LIKES to train. She went High Protection in Trial, SchH3 in heat, a week after being bred. She continues to go to training, but is limited to heeling, motion exercises, flat dumbbells, and in protection phase, just obedienece for bites, hold and barks with bite and slip or grip work - bite and outs until she is about 2 weeks from being due. Wildthing/Jill????????? Aren't you in Kittanning PA??? What happened to Pat??? She was breeding highlines for pet market and was not showing or titling any of the adults, has that changed?
