I'm already in the country, and plan to pick my moms brain to learn all the preserving methods.  We must become more self sufficient.

red Sable, shis is all theoretical because it hasn't happened yet.  However, Skousen's credentials are impressive and he has consulted with some very, very high level USG officials and knows what they are up to with their own survival plans.  Therefore numerous folks believe what Skousen says and some who know him thinks he is holding back a great deal of information to protect his sources.

Actually the USG is the biggest doomsday prepper in history with numerous DUMBs spread across the country, arms, food and equipment stockpiles in huge warehouses and seed storage too.

Read, research and learn as much as you can and evaluate all inputs.  Then folks can come to their own reasonable conclusions.  One thing American history has taught us is that the American Spirit is unstoppable once it is aroused.  Once the people wake up they will be a formidable force for good like our Founding Fathers were.

Anyone who discusses this information from insiders often receives ridicule and accusations of being paranoid or crazy.  Paranoid personalities (normal range) tend to project and blame others for their problems rather than taking responsibility.  If you try and discuss this with friends, some will reject you and accuse you of being crazy or a crackpot. To that they would be wise to understand that top USG officials, active and retired are now the biggest preppers in the world and are spending a lot of their retirement money doing so. 

Paranoid Personality disorders tend to be overly sensitive and feel persecuted, especially when others criticize them and in severe disorders tend to believe folks are after them trying to harm them when this is not true.  I have worked with some doomsday preppers in the past and some were normal, some were obsessive compulsive, some hysterical but none were paranoid.  Paranoids tend to blame others too much to think about prepping at all or any planning ahead.  The obsessive and hysterical ones tended to exaggerate their needs to collect and store to the point that it seriously interfered with their personal and family lives substantially, but the normal ones prepared for the unexpected but possible rationally.
