Hundmutter

Dont see anything in the second link about where 'empathy' fits in;
I can see there could be cause for further investigation of the
difference between analytical thought and intuitive thought -  but
empathy isn't the sole province of either, surely ?

Hundmutter, you are correct, it doesn't make any sense because I put up the wrong header, LOL   Just took me this long to figure it out!  So I wear the egg on my face. Just hope it is good for the skin.  OOPS< TOO LATE TOO EDIT>>>>>>

To make my point about empathy, I need to repost the James Fallon, neuroscience video again, and this time somebody should really watch it. I know no one has watched it because no one has commented on it, and I find that fairly improbable.

Give me a few minutes and I'll try to make things a tad more logical. I think my brain switch gets sticky at times, but otherwise, fairly reliable.

At rest, our brains cycle between the social and analytical networks. But when presented with a task, healthy adults engage the appropriate neural pathway, the researchers found.

The study shows for the first time that we have a built-in neural constraint on our ability to be both empathetic and analytic at the same time

How about we start this one off slowly?

This is the first time you've posted the video beetree.  You many have posted it in another thread, so did you expect me to wade through all of the thread to find it?  I've watched it.  What kind of comment were you sure I was going to make?

What's your point?  Make it.

by beetree on 30 November 2012 - 01:11

Nevermind. I just wanted an honest response. LOL

Who is it that's playing games?

I would totally agree with this study.

I would make the point that various people would lean one way or the other.

I have a more analytical mind and I'm looking for the bottom line. That is my make up.

Others that lean more towards empathy would probably have a harder time making decisions, or making the right decisions at certain times IMO.

Just give your impression and stop wondering what I"m supposedly gaming about, really, just ponder the irony. LOL

....or not,  You can just keep being angry for no reason, too. I don't recommend it.

beetree, why do you think I'm angry?  I'm not angry.  I'd just like to know why my opinion seems to matter so much to you, when it's really insignificant in the grand scheme of things.  Good luck with that, play your own game.

When you want to discuss morality, let me know.
