The psycho ambushed the fire fighters by setting the house on fire. The courts can be blamed for this one.......he was locked up for seventeen years for beating his grandmother to death with a hammer. Why was he allowed to go free to murder again? Gun control did not prevent this.

by Blitzen on 25 December 2012 - 14:12

I haven't read anything more about this yet; do they know where he got the gun?

by joanro on 25 December 2012 - 14:12

Blitzen, they didn't say where he got them, but that he had a couple hand guns and a rifle. Really doesn't matter WHERE he got them from. But his sister was living in the same house with him ( the one he set on fire). Cops assume he burned her up in it,as she is missing. The only positive thing here is that the psycho is dead as well.

by Blitzen on 25 December 2012 - 15:12

It matters to me where he got the guns.

Does it matter to you that he got his hands on a deadly hammer and beat his grandmother to death with it? And thanks to lenient courts, he was set free to murder again. He used the fire to presumably murder his sister, burning her to death. I say outlaw matches, and hammers. At least know who is buying them. Where did he get the hammer and matches? Anybody who would do what he did, can get guns anyway he wants. After all, the judicial system released him into society to do whatever he wanted.

Blitzen is only interested in demonizing guns.

Blitzen, I think he stole them off of Mitt Romney's car roof. But I could be wrong.

Why shouldn't I be concerned where this idiot got those guns? Were they obtained illegally? From a gun show where no background check was required? Did he steal them?  The internet? He is a convicted felon.

Why shouldn't I be concerned where this idiot got those guns?

Because you obviously aren't concerned with any of the other facts.

If he was a convicted fellon then they had to be illegal guns.

by Blitzen on 25 December 2012 - 16:12

What would those "other facts" be? What is so wrong about wanting to know how he got those guns?

Like it or not, there are going to be some changes in the way people can obtain weapons in the US. We are the laughing stock of the world - I refer you to the chart Sunsilver posted to another thread. Canadians can own firearms, but they don't run around with semis that can kill multiple people in a few minutes.  Justify it all you want, the majority of people in this country have had it with this cowboy mentality. They've had it with the NRA and they want thoughtful discussions on ways to prevent the Newtown slaughter from ever happening again. It takes compromise on both sides. If all you guys have to offer are smart ass remarks and examples of Hitler's atrocities, other ways to kill people, and right wing BS from Breitbart and Fox News, then you are choosing to be part of the problem and not contributing anything positive to the solution. Your choice.

Blitzen you don't know a damn thing about Canada.

Apples & oranges.
