Aww...I love kittens.

Congrats on your new addition !!! I couldn't have resisted either.

Here's a baby picture of our youngest kitty Cricket:

I found her in a feed store parking lot, under the wheel well and on top of a horse trailer tire. It was the day before Thanksgiving here and 30 degrees outside. When I got out of my truck (which I just happened to park next to the trailer) I heard her crying and thought it was a bird at first. It took me a while to locate her but when I found her and picked her up she immediately started purring and tried to curl up in my hair (which was long at the time) at my neck. I called my husband and told him I had a surprise for him if could meet me for lunch. He fussed at me for bringing another stray home, but the second picture is how I found them when I got home. He's such a softy for kittens :)

18 years ago, I stopped for my usual cup of coffee at the local country gas station. It was dark, I heard a little sound.. under the car of another customer. This little black kitten, under a car, parked in a blace asphalt parking lot. She was afraid and hungry. I bought a box of cat food with my coffee that morning. She came running for the food, I grabbed her and drove home. My (now ex) husband said "no way in hell are we going to have a cat". I put a bowl of cat food and water on the porch, if she stayed, I would keep her (against his wishes). When I returned from work, she came running to me and has been a special pet ever since. Catzilla (the kids named her) is sleeping on my kitchen table next to this laptop as I type. Sometimes the biggest blessings come from the most unexpected places.

beetree, love your story, clc29 yours too.

I change her food all the time, purina cat chow, taste of the wild, meow mix, others..
She doesn't like solid gold, refuses table scraps and will not eat anything canned.

My sons were in their godzilla phase when I found her.......LOL

wow bee....great story!
clc...what a pose...cute kitty....

I guess i will share my short story of Oscar, i think i did it at one point on here about 3 years ago.
We already had a black cat, my husband’s cat (I always wanted an orange cat ever since I was a kid watching Garfield cartoons)....I am not a cat person to be honest with you, i prefer dogs and i prefer animals to follow commands like when you tell them “no” they know what not to do, when you say “come here” they come….etc…
anyways, here at work we had a (calico) multi color short hair cat and she was tiny, I mean very tiny…she caught mice and baby rabbits and ate out of the dumpster at the back..
one day security guys tell me, dumpster kitty (that became her name)had 4 kittens.I have not seem them but as a joke I said “if there is an orange one, I’ll take it”…well holly cow sure sh*t out of 4 there was 1 grey, 2 multi colored and 1 orange – the only long hair.
When I took orange one home  4  weeks later he was sooo tiny his weight was under 1 pound and my vet could not even give him his shots, reason I took him home so early was because he had round worms and was vomiting and was smaller than all other kittens, i honestly did not think he was going to make it....I caleld him "Dumpster" for about 2 months till my family made me change it to Oscar...his favorite food became cream cheese....
Here is a picture of that 1st day.

3 years later he is a hefty 34 pound cat (most likely daddy was a main coon sp?)

Oscar is more like a dog than any cat I have known...he comes when you call him, he knows "no" and he plays with dogs...he does not get along with other cats thought...

grr last picture did not upload...
