Screen Names or Flow Charts - Page 1

I move that all screen names and subscribers with no valid e-mail addresses be removed from this messageboard effective immediately. The practice of hiding one's identity, posting one's opinions and experiences, accurate, fraudulent, wishful or :-D just plain ridiculous fantasy (and I want to make it clear that ridulous fantasy is perfectly acceptable in my book as long as one is willing to OWN it!) ANNONYMOUSLY (sp?) is, frankly, suspicious at best, cowardly in general, and sadly, far-too-often just plain VICIOUS in this forum. I seriously doubt that the latter was the original intent of the people who originally invested their time, effort and money to create/maintain this absolutely (at least to me) INVALUABLE RESOURCE or the messageboard, likely added as an afterthought; an additional resource/courtesy... Come on, folks... Whether recent visitor, seeking knowledge, assistance, advice, whatever... occasional "lurker", or age-old (?) visitor posting on a regular basis: one should not need a program, let alone a flow chart, to navigate the threads posted on this board! What is a newcomer potential new owner of the breed we all profess to embrace to think upon reading so many of the useless personal assaults posted on this site every day? We speak of "improving the breed." WHAT?!? :-O Seems to me we might pay more attention to "improving" the so-called "proponents of the breed" FIRST! How 'bout we start with TEMPERAMENT issues and go from there. How's this for a challenge: 1. Sign your proudly (?) posted messages WITH YOUR REAL NAME. :-O 2. Post a valid link to your VALID e-mail address. 3. Provide a VALID telephone number whenever requested to facilitate a more in-depth discussion of your VALUABLE thoughts, opinions, experiences and credntials OFF-LINE. Yeah... NOW who's dreaming? Shelley, What are you smokin? LOL It isn't going to happen because too many people are cowards or, in some cases, are legitimately concerned for their safety and or that they will be unduly harassed. This is also something that should have been required initially. I believe it will be required in the new format that is being developed, and frankly, only then will this site return to something of value. When people can act like thugs, children or change data to which they should have no access, unfortunately, the entire tool looses credibilty. There is a listserve, actually several listserves, where intelligent discussions take place and where everyone signs their name.

It's too bad, but it won't happen unless Oli makes it mandatory on the new forum. I wish it were like you say though Shelley - molly (whose e-mail is on my profile and always has been), and whose screen name is my kennel name so not "anonymous"

Shelly, I can respect what you are trying to accomplish. However, it would be impossible for me to devulge personal information for the whole world to have. I worked in corrections for many years and have learned that it simply is not in the best interrest of my family and I to invite trouble. Having said that I can only say that my intentions to add to this board, help when I feel I have something to offer, and keep my mouth shut when I do not and stay out of bickering is a learning experience. However I know that sooner or later someone is going to be offended and it's hard to say how far that will go, ie. harrassment. I sure wish is was not that way but I am not a trusting person. I trust dogs even vicious ones, far more then people.
