I had to write something for our beautiful Annika, we miss her so, so much. There are so many firsts you go through when you lose them, the first day, the first week, the first month, the first birthday without them...
Of all the dogs I have lost she has hit me the hardest, we were inseperable and she would do anything I asked of her. She helped raise Venja's puppies after she had enough of them at 6 weeks old and I knew then that she would be a great Mom herself but it was not meant to be.
I am at a loss for words and still have not written a fitting tribute to her but I believe she knows just how much her Mom and Dad loved her and miss her, there will never be another Annika as she was "my bestest girl"
Until we meet again Punkie...

I would just like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Annika!! I totally understand what you and your family are going through. I also lost my girl on March 1st of this year and also have a difficult time without her. I how ever have her daughter that reminds me of her everyday that goes by. I have no doubt she knows how much loved she is and missed by you and your family. I know Annika and Layla are running around and playing, and I'm sure causing a little bit of chaos along the way. I'm sure she peeks in to make sure her family is doing ok as well.
My sympathy

I am so sorry Darlene. Some of our beloved friends take ahold of our hearts and stay there forever...
A BIG HEARTby Anita Burney
One day up in heaven,
While God was looking down,
He saw people alone and sad,
And He gave a little frown.
He wanted to think of something,
To make those people smile,
Then the answer came to Him,
After He'd thought awhile.
He'd give them a companion,
One whose love was true,
Faithful they would be,
No matter what the people do.
Four legs they would have,
And they would never fail,
To greet these people every time,
With a happy wagging tail.
He'd give them a big heart,
To hold all the love inside,
That love would last forever,
Even after they had died.
For across that Rainbow Bridge,
Would be a special place,
Where they would wait and watch,
To see their master's face.
He thought of what to call it,
And then the answer came.
If you spell "God" backwards,
You'll have this animal's name.
